
Early yesterday morning, a 23-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting near a Rainier Valley hookah lounge. The Seattle Police Department quickly responded to the scene on the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South after receiving a report of gunshots at approximately 6:20 a.m. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest and immediately began life-saving measures.
The Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived shortly thereafter, quickly to transport the wounded man to Harborview Medical Center where he remains in a serious condition. Prior to the shooting, detectives learned of a significant altercation that had erupted in the outdoor patio area of the hookah lounge. Now, the Gun Violence Reduction Unit is deeply invested in unravelling the strings that tie this tragic incident together.
As of now, there have been no suspects taken into custody, and the investigators are actively seeking information. The police are urging anyone who might have insight into the event to step forward. "Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000," as stated in the original police report. With the incident number 25-36013, this case falls under the jurisdiction of the South Precinct.
