The City of Mansfield is putting the gears into motion for its latest community revitalization efforts. The Mansfield City Council has approved two pivotal contracts. According to a social media post from Mansfield Texas Parks & Recreation, the council's decision marks a significant step towards construction projects that promise to enhance local recreational facilities.
First on the docket is an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County to construct parking lots on unused city property at the end of Smith St, the future site of new soccer practice fields. This arrangement means Mansfield foots the bill for materials while the county takes on the labor costs, saving us all time and money. The Hardy Allmon Soccer fields presently occupying the space will be transformed into a court complex, lush with basketball and volleyball courts alongside spaces for tennis and pickleball, complete with dedicated restrooms. The design phase for these recreational additions is reportedly in progress.
Simultaneously, the session approved a sprawling, modern playground for McClendon Park East. The move will replace a 31-year-old play area with a fresh space equipped with the much-appreciated staple of childhood joy.
