Five individuals were cuffed and booked in Maricopa County after an investigation turned up allegations of nefarious activities involving the trafficking of firearms and narcotics through the seemingly innocuous platforms of social media. The suspects, now facing charges, are believed to have peddled fully-automatic machine guns alongside a cocktail of drugs, including 2,000 fentanyl pills and smaller amounts of cocaine, MDMA, and methamphetamines, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
The accused, named Luis Acevedo Machorro, Marcos Acevedo Machorro, Jennifer Rojas Madrigal, Andres Acevedo Dominguez, and Jesus Garcia Barrales, apparently didn't limit their inventory to narcotics, as ads for AK-47 and AR-style rifles made quite the appearance in their virtual storefront, as per Your Valley.
MCDST acts as a joint venture of local, state, and federal agencies, including the likes of MCSO, Buckeye Police, Tempe Police, Mesa Police, Surprise Police, Casa Grande Police, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, the Arizona Department of Corrections, and the DEA, exists as a High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative focused on the toppling of mid-to-high level drug trafficking outfits operating within the region, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
