The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued an updated forecast and a flood advisory for the region, including the Mississippi River at Memphis. Temperatures will improve after a cloudy morning, with skies clearing and a high near 40°F, a rise from the earlier 27°F. Winds will shift west at 5 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight’s forecast calls for clear skies and a low around 27°F, with calm winds continuing. The upcoming week will see gradual warming, with Sunday’s high reaching 50°F and temperatures climbing into the 60s by Monday. By Wednesday, the high may approach 70°F, marking a sharp contrast to today’s cold.

A Flood Advisory has been issued after heavy rainfall, advising drivers to avoid flooded roads. The flood advisory affects areas along the Mississippi River, from Tiptonville to Helena, and the Tennessee River from Pickwick Dam to Johnsonville. Elevated river levels, caused by rain and runoff, are expected to last until the end of February.

The Mississippi River at Memphis is currently at 28.1 feet and is expected to crest at 28.5 feet early Monday, still below the flood stage of 34 feet. Flooding impacts are already being observed in some areas. In Arkansas, Dacus Lake Road under the I-55 Bridge is beginning to flood, and water is approaching the levee south of Blue Lake. The road to Island 40 is also flooding. Officials advise caution near riverbanks and recommend staying updated on the latest weather.
