The forecast includes a mix of sunny and partly cloudy days, with caution advised for potential flooding along the river's edge, according to the National Weather Service.
Memphis residents are experiencing fair weather at 30°F, with clouds expected to increase today and highs reaching 58°F. Winds will be light from the southwest at 5 mph. The Mississippi River at Memphis is at 28.6 feet, close to the 29-foot action stage, and the National Weather Service reports that "elevated river levels are forecast." Temperatures will rise this week, with sunshine and a high near 65°F on Tuesday and around 70°F on Wednesday. There is a 40 percent chance of rain Wednesday night.
The National Weather Service states that the Mississippi River may cause disruptions in the area. "At 29.0 feet, In Arkansas, the evacuation route from camps south of Hopefield Chute is cut off." Residents should stay alert, as "Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks." An area near Sulcer Road west of South Lake is also being monitored. A Flood Advisory is in effect until on Sunday.
