
In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Michigan State Police have reportedly apprehended a suspect and confiscated an estimated $40,000 worth of illegal drugs in Wayne County. The operation was carried out by the Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET), a special unit targeting drug-related offenses.
According to a statement obtained by Audacy, on Thursday, detectives executed search warrants in both Canton Township and Wayne, although the exact locations of these raids remain undisclosed. Nearly 9 pounds of methamphetamine and a quantity of crack cocaine were among the contraband seized. The identity of the suspect in custody has not yet been released.
In a similar account, ClickOnDetroit reported an estimated 8.8 pounds of methamphetamine were taken by authorities during the operation. The investigation now awaits a thorough review from the prosecutor's office before charges can be officially filed.
Additional support was provided by the MSP Metro South Post and Downriver SWAT, which aided MNET detectives in execution of the search warrants. Hometown Life noted that the seized substances were taken from two communities within western Wayne County on Thursday.
