A burglary suspect is being sought by the Monroe Police Department after a home intrusion was captured by surveillance cameras last Friday night. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Wind Chime Court near Goldmine Road, as per WBTV. The suspect was recorded wearing a dark T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase "Game Recognize Game."
The homeowner, who was alerted to the break-in by his home surveillance system, was not at the residence during the occurrence. Before police could apprehend him, the suspect managed to flee the scene, notified by the system. Despite the swift response from officers, arriving within minutes after the 911 call, the suspect had vanished by the time the police could secure the perimeter, according to WCNC.
Authorities have not disclosed what items were stolen from the house. Union County Crime Stoppers and the Monroe Police Department are urging anyone with information to come forward to help identify the suspect. Individuals with any details that could be pertinent to the case are asked to contact the Monroe Police Department at 704-282-4700 or call Union County Crime Stoppers at 704-283-5600, as reported by WCCB Charlotte.
Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect, seeking aid from the public to assist in the identification of the individual. The burglary happened near the New Testament Child Development Center on Wind Chime Court. Wearing a shirt that shouted louder than his stolen spoils, "Game Recognize Game" became an unwitting slogan of the night's ill-fated venture, captured on camera as a lingering shadow on the homeowner's security footage.
