In an effort to provide enhanced support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, Sutter Yuba Behavioral Health has introduced new Mobile Crisis Response units, now operating in Yuba and Sutter counties. According to a Facebook post by the Yuba County District Attorney's Office, these teams are available 24/7, offering onsite support to stabilize situations and connect individuals to necessary resources, aiming to lessen the need for emergency interventions.
The new services seek to bridge a crucial gap in the behavioral health landscape by providing immediate responses to non-life-threatening conditions. This initiative is set not only to aid those in crisis, but to also unburden emergency services. Residents in need can reach the Mobile Crisis Response teams directly at (888) 923-3800 or (530) 673-8255, ready to ensure that support is just a phone call away, as reported by the Yuba County District Attorney's Office.
These units are staffed by trained professionals who can handle a variety of mental health emergencies, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and substance abuse issues. While they do not replace the emergency services provided by dialing 911, the presence of Mobile Crisis Response teams presents a hopeful addition to the resources available for mental health management in the region, as per the Yuba County District Attorney's Office.
