Anne Arundel County police responded to a potentially dangerous situation involving a juvenile last week at Old Mill North Middle School—the incident involving the display of what appeared to be a firearm during an alleged assault has led to multiple charges against a 16-year-old boy, FOX Baltimore reported.
Authorities were alerted to the incident, which transpired last Friday, upon which a School Resource Officer received notice while working at a basketball game near Old Mill High School. During this time, the officer was informed about an assault that had occurred on middle school grounds, and it was said the youth in question had confronted and assaulted other individuals and then escalated the situation by reportedly pointing a gun at them, according to FOX Baltimore.
Investigations led by the Anne Arundel County police eventually allowed detectives to identify the suspect and conduct a search, which resulted in the recovery of a replica BB gun at the suspect’s residence. The replica had been purportedly used during the altercation, a detail that later emerged from the inquiry, based on the accounts from WBALTV.
The teenage boy from Odenton, Maryland, was subsequently arrested at Chesapeake High School, where he is currently enrolled, facing charges that include multiple counts of first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and various weapons-related offenses the arrest and the nature of the charges were delineated in news releases shared by local authorities.
