An early morning blaze claimed one life and left three others injured in a west Charlotte mobile home fire today. According to WBTV, the fire erupted around 4:15 a.m. off Scott Futrell Drive, and emergency crews responded promptly to the call.

Upon arrival, firefighters were greeted with flames erupting from a residence just off I-85 near the Billy Graham Parkway, the fire which the Charlotte Fire Department managed to subdue within approximately 25 minutes. The Mecklenburg EMS Agency reported attending to seven individuals at the scene where one was pronounced dead on site and and three declined hospitalization according to QC News.

Witnesses in the vicinity recounted the crisis; a neighbor, speaking with WSOC-TV, described a "loud pop" moments before the fire became visible. The Charlotte Fire Department later posted a video showing the aftermath of the fire, which conveyed the extent of the damage to the once liveable space.

The survivors, all from the same household, were taken for medical care. Two suffered major injuries, while one had minor injuries. The Charlotte Fire Department and Medic have not yet released their identities or ages. The cause of the fire is still under investigation as the community copes with the aftermath.
