Today, Orlando city leaders are set to hold a workshop to review the design proposal for a permanent Pulse memorial, a sacred space conceived to honor the 49 lives lost during the devastating massacre that took place at the nightclub in 2016. The public workshop will allow community members to engage with the design, which includes a reflecting pool and a water wall, along with an arc of columns and myriad colorful glass elements, as reported by WFTV.
The design, incorporating feedback from victims' families and survivors, was chosen by the Pulse Advisory Committee, which is composed of an 18-member panel selected from over 150 applicants. The committee was founded following the disbanding of the OnePulse Foundation in 2023 and has been convening monthly, mostly since its inception, according to information from WESH.
