Following a meticulous investigation by Maryland State Police, Quwan Lamar Gordon has been found guilty of attempted murder and other related charges after a road rage incident led to a shooting on Interstate 95 in Howard County. Colonel Roland L. Butler, Jr. praised the investigation's diligence, whose efforts were instrumental in attaining the conviction that concluded a three-day jury trial, as reported by the Maryland Government news.
The incident, which occurred on August 12, 2024, prompted an immediate response from state troopers, spurred by a report from a truck driver who even managed to photograph the assailant's vehicle, providing a significant lead. According to information from Maryland Government, the truck driver's vigilance, paired with the victim's account, painted a clear picture of the altercation involving a white Volkswagen, which, fortunately, did not result in physical injuries for the victims.
Investigative work under the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative pointed to Gordon as the perpetrator. A search of his residence in Owings Mills and the implicated vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of contraband, including MDMA, fentanyl, and a loaded handgun. Gordon, who was already prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions, found himself facing initial charges related to weapons and narcotics.
