The victim, identified as 39-year-old Ruben Villa, an Oxnard resident, was found by law enforcement officers suffering from gunshot wounds on SUnday, around 4:32 a.m.

The arriving officers attempted to immediately administer life-saving measures while awaiting Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Despite efforts quickly to try and save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries. "Officers began life saving measures and EMS Personnel quickly arrived and treated Mr. Villa.
