A Palm Coast man faces multiple charges after an investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) revealed a series of sexual offenses committed against a juvenile family member over several years. The FCSO detailed that the investigation was prompted by an incident reported to a school guidance counselor, which quickly garnered the attention of law enforcement officials and culminated in the arrest of Kristopher Henriqson, 47, last Tuesday. The allegations outlined suggest a prolonged and predatory violation of trust and safety within the family unit.
Authorities acted swiftly upon receiving the report from the victim, who showed immense courage to step forward with such a harrowing account. In a statement obtained by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office via social media, Sheriff Rick Staly commended the victim's bravery, emphasizing the shocking level of depravity in the case. Detective First Class Adam Gossett took the lead in the investigation, working in conjunction with victim advocates and the Major Case Unit, to build a strong case against Henriqson. This included an immediate emergency forensic exam and interview of the victim by the First Coast Child Protection Team.
Evidence collected from an extensive search of Henriqson's home led not only to the confirmation of the sexual abuse allegations but also unearthed a substantial quantity of narcotics. As per the FCSO's account, during the execution of a search warrant, Special Investigations Unit detectives discovered roughly 3.8 pounds of marijuana. In light of this finding, the charges against Henriqson were expanded to include Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver; Possession of Hashish; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
In the aftermath of these disturbing findings, Henriqson was located by PACE Unit detectives as he seemingly tried to purposely evade the grasp of justice by fleeing southbound on Interstate 95. Sheriff Staly's statement obtained by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office highlighted the collective effort of the school resource deputies, detectives, victim advocates, and the CSI team, all of whom worked tireless together to ensure that this "sick and dangerous pervert" was apprehended and brought to face the consequences of his heinous actions.
Henriqson is currently held without bond at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, awaiting legal proceedings on numerous charges. The victim, whose identity remains confidential due to the sensitivity of the case and the individual's age, has been acknowledged for their pivotal role in unveiling the crimes perpetrated and is hoped to receive necessary support and therapy to move forward from this traumatic experience.
