The burglaries, which officers have termed "dinnertime burglaries" due to their occurrence during evening hours, have seen an upswing since the onset of 2025 with multiple homes being targeted, according to CBS News.

Residents have been on edge, with one local, Michelle Lee, expressing her distress to NBC Los Angeles, saying, "I'm very stressed and I think this is not normal. This is not normal to go through." Lee added, "I think it’s not just Palos Verdes Estates it’s everywhere. I fear for my friends. I fear for my neighbors and I’m really stressed out to leave the house even for an hour."

Police also shared a map and details outlining the locations and timing of the burglaries. Authorities have not released details on the arrests, and it remains unclear if they are searching for additional suspects. The motive is still under investigation, as noted by the FOXLA report.
