In the early hours of last Saturday, a stabbing at a Santa Monica bar left one man dead and another injured. According to KTLA, police responded to a call at The Bungalow on 101 Wilshire Boulevard around 1:50 a.m., where they discovered both victims with stab wounds.
The Santa Monica Police Department indicated that the victims were quickly transported to a local hospital. Tragically, a 31-year-old man from Anaheim died from his injuries, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. Remaining under medical care, the details about the second victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, have not been publicly released. As the investigation unfolds, currently, the police have not made any arrests.
The incident appears to have been an isolated act, which took place just outside the Fairmont Miramar Hotel. "Investigators are reviewing video surveillance and gathering witness statements to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation," said the Santa Monica police in a statement that Santa Monica PD's press release echoed. The police maintain that there is no threat to the public at this time.
