Residents of Snohomish County are invited to an open house today to discuss the Jordan Creek Bridge 214 Replacement Project. The event will offer community members the opportunity to engage with county officials and learn about the upcoming project and the expected road closure, according to Snohomish County Public Works announcement.
Those interested are invited to attend the event at the Arlington Heights Improvement Club from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Jordan Creek Bridge, which connects Arlington and Granite Falls, was reduced to a single lane in 2019 and currently supports over 1,000 vehicles per day, including ten percent freight traffic. Built in 1981 on timber piles, the bridge no longer meets seismic codes and does not fully accommodate current traffic needs.
The planned replacement will rebuild the bridge, creating a wider path that restores two-way traffic and adds two six-foot shoulders to improve mobility for all users. The new infrastructure is expected to improve daily commutes and enhance safety and logistical capabilities in the region.
Construction is scheduled to begin next month, and the open house offers an opportunity for residents to learn about the impacts, timeline, and benefits of the bridge replacement. Snohomish County Public Works is working to ensure that locals have the necessary information. This event provides a chance to understand how the project will affect the community.
