Drivers in Onslow County should take note: your route may need a temporary change if it includes Spring Hill Road. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has announced that a section of this road near White Oak will be closing for a few days to facilitate the replacement of a crossline pipe. The work is set to start at 8 a.m. tomorrow and is expected to wrap up by Friday evening.
The affected stretch is specifically in the 400 block, near Belgrade-Swansboro Road, and while there won't be an officially signed detour, the NCDOT suggests a workaround for those affected the drivers can navigate around the closure by using Belgrade-Swansboro Road, Belgrade Extension Road, U.S. 17 Business and U.S. 17 to reach their destinations on either side.
This maintenance work is essential for the integrity of the road and the safety of its users. For those who regularly traverse Spring Hill Road, planning ahead for this disruption is advised. The NCDOT urges motorists to consider the detour's impact on their daily schedules and to proceed with caution when driving near the area where the crews will be working.
