Baltimore Police arrested three juveniles after officers spotted and pursued a vehicle linked to an armed carjacking earlier this month, the department reported. The arrest unfolded on the evening of Tuesday when officers noticed the car, conspicuously missing its front license plate, on the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave. The three suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended by the police.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle's rear license plate did not match the car, which was confirmed as stolen during an armed carjacking on February 6 at Sinai Hospital, the same day an attempted carjacking involving these juveniles was reported in the exact location. According to the Baltimore Police, the two incidents were at Sinai Hospital, pinpointing a potential pattern in the suspects' activities.

Two individuals, aged 16 and 17, were taken to Juvenile Booking. After a review by the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS), they were charged, but both suspects were subsequently released to their guardians' custody. The suspects, it seems, carrying the weight of prior offenses, including robberies and handgun violations, remain in the flux of a justice system grappling with the rehabilitation and punishment of its youngest offenders. Meanwhile, the third suspect, also 17, was taken to an area hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the arrest. They, too, have been released to a guardian as authorities deliberate additional charges.
