The event unfolded this morning around 8:30 a.m. at the DSS office, located on South Cannon Boulevard. According to WBTV, officials reported that both victims were found deceased by Kannapolis police, who subsequently engaged in a chase alongside a Cabarrus County deputy in pursuit of the suspect.
The chase, which also involved officers from the Kannapolis Police Department and, eventually, deputies from Rowan County, ended about 20 miles away.
