White Settlement police officers responded to a shooting at a local motel yesterday, according to a social media post by the White Settlement Police Department (WSPD). The incident occurred in the 600 block of N. Jim Wright Freeway, where, quickly after the shooting was reported, law enforcement detained a suspected shooter and another individual connected to the event.
A victim was discovered with gunshot wounds in the motel parking lot and was subsequently rushed to the hospital for medical attention. At the scene of the crime, an array of law enforcement agencies provided backup to the WSPD, including representatives from the Sansom Park Police Department, Lakeside Police Department, and the Westworth Village Police Department, as well as the Fort Worth Police Department and Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation into the shooting is still in its infancy, but detectives are actively piecing together the circumstances that sparked the violence. According to the White Settlement Police Department's update, two arrests have been made for the shooting, and a firearm, believed to be the one used in the incident, has been recovered from the scene.
