On Wednesday, U.S. Marshals apprehended a 22-year-old man near Atlanta, Georgia, for his connection to a Port Huron crime and a December 2023 double homicide in Detroit, according to the Port Huron Police Department. Additionally, a 36-year-old woman linked to the death of Buckles was arrested in Lincoln Park the same day after new evidence further implicated her, despite her earlier questioning and release, as reported by Times Herald.
Assistant Chief Jeremy Youngs acknowledged the multiple agencies that assisted in the investigation, stating, "We extend our gratitude to the multiple agencies that assisted in this investigation." Buckles, a devoted father of three, was involved in two connected incidents that night—his vehicle was found ablaze in a suspected arson, and 20 minutes later, he was tragically shot, forcing his daughter to hide in a closet during the attack. Police believe the arson and homicide are linked. His aunt, Karen Mitchell, described Vincent as "He’s just a family man, friendly, hardworking" in an interview with WXYZ.
