Starting February 17, the Dunn Creek Culvert Replacement Project will close a section of East Juniper Avenue, from Meadowgrass Lane to Traditions Grande Boulevard, until fall. Residents and commuters should expect detours during this time, according to the Town of Wake Forest.
Signs will direct drivers around the construction area. The project, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, includes replacing culverts, installing a 90-foot box culvert, adding a multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, and improving the road with new curbs, gutters, and asphalt resurfacing. Future road developments will also be accommodated, as reported by the Town of Wake Forest.
Fred Smith Co. will manage the project to replace old infrastructure and improve safety on East Juniper Avenue over Dunn Creek in Wake Forest. The upgrades aim to modernize the area, support future growth, and enhance road efficiency. While the closure may impact daily commuters, the project is expected to be completed by fall, bringing safer and improved roadways for the community, as stated by the Town of Wake Forest.
