West Memphis was the scene of a law enforcement crackdown that resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including two alleged gang members wanted for murder. The West Memphis Police Department (WMPD), as reported by Action News 5, conducted three search warrants across different addresses—on East Thompson Avenue, North 18th Street, and Montgomery Street. These raids led to the confiscation of five firearms, one of which was a Glock equipped with a switch, an illegal modification that allowed the weapon to fire automatically.
The individuals apprehended in the crackdown were identified as Jabrone Hamilton, Alex Jackson, Kilyzjhia Williams, and Calvin Taylor, while Hamilton and Jackson, who are allegedly connected to the OTR gang, were both on the run for murder according to FOX13 Memphis. In the wake of these operations, William faces possession charges and Taylor was arrested based on an outstanding attempted murder warrant, both have also been linked to gang activities, which amplifies the impact of their arrest in the context of the broader fight against gang violence.
Adding to this narrative, Local Memphis stated that the WMPD's Criminal Investigations Division and Homicide Division carried out these operations on Friday, and aside from the seized firearms, the police underscored their commitment to "removing dangerous weapons from the streets and keeping the community safe." The arrests and the seizures showcase the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to dismantle the presence of illegal firearms and subdue the activities of gangs in West Memphis.
