The City of White Settlement recently expressed gratitude to community volunteers with its second annual Volunteer Banquet, held at the Pecan Grove Convention Center. As noted in a social media post, this gathering was a testament to those who have selflessly donated their time and skills to enhance the lives within their community.
The impressive figures shared by the City included 540 registered volunteers who, through their collective effort, dedicated a remarkable 8,669 hours over the past year to more than 30 different volunteer opportunities. Their contributions are not just measured in time. Still, the local economic impact amounted to $290,338. In the shared effort to improve the local community, the volunteers offered various services that benefited numerous department and community projects.
At the banquet, different City government leaders presented awards across various categories, acknowledging the outstanding contributions of these individuals and organizations. However, the wider sentiment echoed throughout the event was aptly summarized in the City of White Settlement's social media post: "every single one of our volunteers is greatly appreciated!" This statement underlines the fundamental belief that each act of voluntary service, regardless of recognition or award, is a vital piece of the community's fabric.
