The city is hosting a series of Community Open House events, inviting public input on the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan (PROSMP). With a focus on enhancing local parks and community spaces, the gatherings represent a key opportunity for residents to influence the trajectory of neighborhood amenities.
According to a social media post from the City of White Settlement, the first open house is slated for February 25 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Pecan Grove Convention Center located at 405 N. Las Vegas Trail. A second opportunity for public engagement will occur on March 1 from 10 am to noon at City Hall, 214 Meadow Park Drive. The post stressed the importance of community voices, stating, "These are your parks, so use your voice to help shape their future!"
The mission of the PROSMP is to guide the development and maintenance of future and existing parks, trails, and recreational spaces in alignment with the aspirations of the community it serves. Putting the power into the hands of the people, the City of White Settlement is taking a commendable step in grassroots civic engagement.
