The University of Michigan's Michigan Stadium will host its first-ever concert on September 27, featuring country artist Zach Bryan as the headliner, along with John Mayer and others. According to Detroit Free Press, the event marks a change for the stadium, which has traditionally hosted football, hockey, and soccer games.
University officials and AEG Presents are organizing a large concert at Michigan Stadium this fall, aiming to break U.S. attendance records. The stadium has a capacity of over 107,000, making it a suitable venue for such an event. U-M Athletic Director Warde Manuel stated in an interview with FOX 2 Detroit, "We have been studying and evaluating what it takes to host a concert at Michigan Stadium for a couple of years and today marks that next step in the venture with great partners."
Michigan Stadium will host a concert during the Wolverines' bye week, allowing two weeks for logistics despite the venue's single-tunnel access, which officials say has been managed. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. on AXS, as reported by Detroit Free Press and Audacy. The event features Bryan, who has risen from navy veteran to a chart-topping artist. Officials have hinted at additional plans but have not provided details.
