
A man was reportedly stabbed in the Patch neighborhood, according to police who are currently investigating the incident that occurred last night. The 35-year-old victim sought treatment at a local hospital where officers were called to respond shortly after 8 p.m. As per SLMPD's report, the man recounted an encounter around 7:30 p.m. on Schirmer Street which led to his injury.
The victim told officers that he was walking on the 200 block of Schirmer when he noticed an individual approaching. After a brief exchange, in which the victim mentioned hearing the other man mumble something, the situation escalated rapidly. "After speaking to the suspect, the 35-year-old man said the suspect stabbed him in the stomach with a knife," as stated by the SLMPD's online publication. The assailant then fled the scene, leaving the victim wounded.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's District 1 has not yet identified a suspect in this case and their investigation is still open.
