An east Charlotte neighborhood was unsettled by the sound of gunfire yesterday evening as a 9-year-old boy was seriously injured in what has been reported as an accidental shooting. According to WCNC, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Copper Creek Court, near Albemarle Road. The child was swiftly taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In a statement MEDIC provided to WSOCTV, the nine-year-old was transported to Atrium with injuries that were reported as life-threatening.
