An ongoing investigation is taking place after a fatal traffic collision rocked the city of Adelanto on the evening of March 18. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, at around 6:45 p.m., a white Mazda CX-7 collided with a white Chevrolet Impala at the intersection of US Highway 395 and Rancho Road. Both vehicles were carrying occupants at the time: the Mazda with a solo driver, and the Chevrolet with two individuals, including 47-year-old Mawusi Z. Fiagbenu from Adelanto.

Emergency services were quickly summoned to the accident scene, where all three people involved were transported to nearby hospitals. The report indicates, Fiagbenu sustained critical injuries only succumbing to them two days later, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital on Thursday. The other two individuals' conditions have not been disclosed to the public as of yet.

The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) out of the Adelanto Sheriff's Station, overseen by Deputy Richard Morales, is leading the probe into this tragic incident. The exact cause of the collision remains unclear, and officials are calling upon witnesses or anyone with information regarding the accident to come forward.
