Altura, a new affordable housing community in Southwest Beaverton, has opened to support households earning 30% to 60% of the area's median income. The complex offers 75 affordable units and was developed by BRIDGE Housing with a $40.7 million investment involving Oregon Housing and Community Services, the City of Beaverton, Energy Trust of Oregon, and Key Bank. The project received $12 million from the voter-approved Metro affordable housing bond, according to the Washington County.

Washington County Chair Kathryn Harrington said, "Altura is yet another example of how the regional affordable housing bond is making a real difference in people’s lives across our county." Metro Councilor Gerritt Rosenthal stated that the housing initiatives aim to provide stability for low-income families in South Cooper Mountain, emphasizing the role of the regional plan in addressing housing challenges, as reported by the Washington County.

BRIDGE Housing, led by President and CEO Ken Lombard, has developed 22,000 affordable homes across the West Coast with an investment of over $5.8 billion. Lombard stated, "We are delighted to bring quality, family-friendly affordable housing to an up-and-coming area of Beaverton." The Housing Authority of Washington County, with a 50-year history, continues efforts to expand affordable housing in partnership with Metro. The opening of Altura is part of these efforts to provide housing for families in the region, as stated by the Washington County.
