Baltimore drivers should prepare to adjust their commutes as the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration kicks off road work on US 40 (Pulaski Highway) in eastern Baltimore County. Starting March 10, this pavement patching project will extend from Days Cove Road to the Harford County line at Little Gunpowder Falls. As reported by FOX Baltimore, the work is scheduled to be completed by early April, with activities primarily occurring between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays.
Motorists traversing the two-mile stretch can expect to see single-lane closures in both directions during work hours. The State Highway Administration intends to maintain safe traffic mobility through the zone and advises, "Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes," according to their statement reported by FOX Baltimore. With the $1.6 million project, part of a larger initiative to repair and resurface primary state highways in Baltimore County, drivers are advised to plan for potential delays.
Contractor Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium will manage the project, which aims to patch and improve the overall pavement quality. Details from NottinghamMD highlight that the work zone will be marked with temporary traffic signs, cones, and barrels to guide motorists through the construction area safely.
