The City of Boulder and Boulder County are rolling up their sleeves and extending an open invitation to all community members to join a critical conversation shaping the future of the Boulder Valley. Mark your calendars for April 12, the East Boulder Community Center is set to become a hub of aspirations, ideas, and future planning from noon to 3 p.m., as part of the latest stage in updating the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan.

This update to the plan, which dictates the community's growth, connectivity, and response to environmental changes, started in earnest in October 2024. So far, they've harnessed over 2,500 comments from the populous, and now, they’re calling on more voices to mold the vision forward. This collaborative effort has sparked new ideas, shaped focus areas, and crafted a proposed vision statement, according to the City of Boulder.

The upcoming event goes by the banner "A Boulder Direction" and is a deep dive into the collective brainpower of the community. Attendees can engage in roundtable discussions, with 20-minute sessions covering topics like climate action, housing and affordability, safety, transportation, and wellness. "As we kick-off the next step in the update process, A Boulder Direction, we will dive deeper into those priorities and ideas and explore potential solutions, challenges and opportunities," as per the City of Boulder.
