Boulder residents, it's your turn to put in your two cents on the city's future. According to Boulder County, a Community Roundtable and Open House event is being organized to gather public input on the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan update; this event is slated for Saturday, April 12, at the East Boulder Community Center.

The process started back in October 2024, the community has been vocal with over 2,500 comments and suggestions pouring in, all of that culminated in a vision statement for Boulder that's being fine-tuned with input collected at events like this upcoming roundtable, not only comments but ideas and notions of what might work best for the city have been discussed at length.

As per Boulder County, the comprehensive plan "guides how our community will look and feel, the transportation networks that connect us, and how we face changes to our natural and built environments for years to come." This plan will thus reflect on major points, including climate action, housing, affordability, safety, transportation, and wellness, among others, these topics will form the crux of the discussions in the roundtable sessions.

Details for those interested: the event is from noon to 3 p.m., small group discussions will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and topics are set to include the aforementioned touchstones of community wellness and with transportation networks, and climate initiatives playing a heavy role in the conversation, kids activities and Spanish interpretation will be provided, including light refreshments for attendees. The event encourages diverse community involvement and promises more engagement opportunities later in the summer for those who can't make it to the April 12 event.
