Residents of Cabarrus County in need of child support services will soon find themselves heading to a new address. The Cabarrus County Child Support Services is relocating to the Cabarrus County Government Center at 65 Church St. S., Concord. The move, effective March 10, is a strategic step to foster closer ties between the service center and the courthouse, and is geared toward making processes more efficient for staff and more convenient for service users.
According to the Cabarrus County's announcement, the transition to the new location is not just about proximity to the courthouse, it's also about streamlining the experience for those who rely on these crucial services. "This new location is just a few short steps from the courthouse, which will allow for improved business operations for our staff," told Susan Dillon, Child Support Services program administrator, recognizing the benefits that this move could bring not just to the efficiency of operations, but to the clientele who depend on timely support and services. The reassurance that service levels aim to remain consistent is a significant aspect for the community that relies on these services during transitional times.
The services provided by the Cabarrus County Child Support Services encompass a wide range of needs and challenges that families face. They help locate noncustodial parents, establish paternity for children born outside of marriage, and set up court-ordered child support. Moreover, they are the arm that collects child support payments, enforces support and medical insurance, and modifies child support orders when necessary. The department, a branch of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, is integral in ensuring that families receive the financial support required for the well-being of children in the county.
The current office located at 1303 S. Cannon Blvd., Kannapolis is set to close as the new Government Center office opens its doors, signaling a fresh start and what is likely hoped to be, an improved interface with the courthouse. "The move gives customers easier access to child support payments and streamlines business with the courthouse," Dillon noted, suggesting that the realignment of services with the courthouse vicinity could be a game-changer for many. The anticipated ease of access and enhanced coordination with the legal processes associated with child support could contribute significantly towards a smoother and more responsive system, as per the Cabarrus County's announcement.
As the moving date approaches, the Cabarrus County Child Support Services is preparing to make the transition as seamless as possible. For those residents currently engaged with their services, the promise remains the same: reliable support, now just from a different setting.
