Two Camarillo residents have been nabbed after law enforcement uncovered a huge stash of weapons and ammunition in a storage unit. Jaqueline Randall, 38, and Timothy Creech, 58, were arrested on Tuesday in what seems to be a significant bust involving assault weapons and an anti-materiel rifle, as stated in a release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
Investigations began in late February when detectives from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) received a tip-off about an assault with a deadly weapon. Their work led them to suspect Randall, and ultimately to a search warrant for her house, vehicle, and property. When they pulled Randall over, she was with Creech, who, as a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing, owning, or purchasing ammunition. According to the Sheriff's Department release, ammunition and methamphetamine were found in the vehicle.
During the search of Randall's home, authorities discovered a 9mm handgun, various caliber ammunition, and numerous high-capacity magazines. But it was in the storage unit where the law enforcement hit the proverbial jackpot. They seized 42 firearms, including a .50 caliber Armalite AR-50 anti-materiel rifle and an AK-47 style rifle with a bayonet, as well as several thousand rounds of ammunition, in a search that was based on a tip obtained during the house search.
Both suspects were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, with the community's continuous support playing a pivotal role in the ongoing fight against crime. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, emphasizing the importance of community partnership, thanked members of the public for their assistance in solving crimes. Information leading to an arrest in this case could fetch a reward of up to $1,000, as mentioned in the Sheriff's release, through Ventura County Crime Stoppers.
