The Charles County Sheriff's Office has issued a call to the public, urging individuals to step forward with any information that might help identify and locate a serial sex offender. The social media post by the Sheriff's office details a series of assaults that took place between November 1996 and August 2003, where an unidentified male suspect preyed upon women in Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C., by offering them rides under pretenses.
According to the post, the suspect, who went by "Jerry" and several other aliases, harbored a familiarity with Charles County's remote areas, exploiting this knowledge to assault his victims. Despite multiple accounts and descriptions provided by survivors, law enforcement has not been able to pinpoint the suspect's identity.
With the suspect initially determined to be in his late 30s to early 50s at the time of the attacks, authorities believe he could now be in his 50s to 70s, presenting as a black male with a darker complexion, stocky build, short-cropped haircut, and prominent overbite. The cumulative effort for justice hinges on community engagement. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, a combined cash reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest or indictment.
