A deadly shooting occurred in the Freedom Division, Charlotte, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit. The incident happened on the 1200 block of Lucky Penny Street, where authorities were summoned to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call last night, right after 9 p.m.

Upon their arrival, officers found one individual suffering from a gunshot wound, who was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC, as detailed by the CMPD. The Homicide Unit took charge of the investigation, with the Crime Scene Search team joining to collect evidence. In addition to this, CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, and CFD provided further support.
