
After a distinguished 25-year career with the Clark County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin, Sergeant Mike Koprek has laid down his badge to embrace the next chapter of his life: retirement. Honored by his peers and respected for his dedication, Koprek's journey through various roles in the Sheriff's Office reflects his evolution as a law enforcement professional and his unwavering commitment to the community he's served.
Starting as a communications and corrections deputy on April 19, 2000, Koprek climbed the ranks swiftly, becoming a sergeant in the same division just a year later, showing his dedication to progress and breadth in his field, his time as a patrol officer began on August 25, 2008 displaying adaptability to diverse responsibilities within the force. His knack for mentorship was evident when he took on the role of a Field Training Officer, where he imparted knowledge and skills to newly hired patrol deputies.
Koprek's career development took another notable turn on September 10, 2015, when he was promoted to the role of detective; a position in which, according to a social media post from the Clark County Sheriff's Office, his "professionalism and commitment to the citizens of Clark County and the cases he worked" were vividly observed by his colleagues and the community he served. Sheriff Kerry Kirn recounted working with Mike in the Detective Division, witnessing his passion and dedication to the role.
The final phase of his career saw him return to the corrections department as a sergeant on December 1, 2018.
