Residents of Clark County, your voice matters in shaping the future of your community. Clark County Community Services is seeking public input on the upcoming 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, a strategic guide for the allocation of federal funds aimed at improving the quality of life for low- and moderate-income households. Through the Community Development Block Grant and the HOME Investment Partnerships program, this plan will address vital housing and community development needs, according to the county's official website.

An integral part of creating the Consolidated Plan is the feedback from county residents, and so, a variety of opportunities are being offered to gather your thoughts and priorities. Starting with an online survey, available through May 10, 2025, residents can share their insights on housing and non-housing related needs in the area. The county ensures that everyone can participate by providing the survey in both English and Spanish.

Beyond the digital realm, Clark County has also scheduled in-person and virtual community meetings, welcoming residents to walk in and submit comments. The Vancouver Community Library will host the first session on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 3 – 7 p.m., and the Battle Ground Community Library will hold the second on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 3 – 6 p.m. For those preferring a virtual setting, a Zoom session is planned for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, between 6:30 – 8 p.m.

All local voices are also encouraged to be heard at the city council meetings. Brief presentations on the Consolidated Plan will be provided to the city councils of participant members in the county's Urban County Policy Board. Public comment is welcomed during these sessions, which run from March 24 through May 5. Specific dates and times for each city council presentation can be found on their respective websites. Another opportunity for the community to provide input will be when the draft Consolidated Plan is presented for Clark County Council's approval, prior to its submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in mid-May.
