Tracy Morgan, the comedian and actor known for his stint on "Saturday Night Live" and "30 Rock", had a rough time at yesterday's Knicks-Heat game at Madison Square Garden. According to CBS News, Morgan suffered a health scare, which saw the game paused for more than 10 minutes while he was removed from an his seat and the area cleaned up. Witnesses at the scene described it as a medical emergency, and Morgan appeared to be both throwing up and bleeding from his nose.
Amidst concerns, Morgan reassured fans via social media this morning that his doctors attributed the incident to food poisoning. "Thank you for all your concern! I'm doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning," Morgan said in his post alongside an upbeat photo of himself in a hospital bed. He added, "Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!" as per CBS News.
The event caused quite a stir, with social media posts circulating that showed Morgan in distress. According to the New York Post, a fan-shared photo depicted Morgan hunched over, vomiting at his courtside seat. In another video, he was seen being wheeled out of the venue while attended by paramedics. The New York Post also reported that Morgan "could barely stand up" during the ordeal.
In the wake of the incident, MSG and Knicks players, including Josh Hart, extended their well-wishes. "We hope everything is good with Tracy Morgan, avid lifetime Knicks fan, so prayers go out to him and his health and safety," Hart told the New York Post. Indeed, Morgan is no stranger to health battles, having previously dealt with serious injuries from an accident in 2014 and other health issues, including a kidney transplant in 2010. He remains a staple at Knicks games, showcasing his loyalty to the team through thick and thin.
On a lighter note, Morgan humorously suggested that his misadventure could be a new talisman for the Knicks. "The Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I'll have to break it out again in the playoffs," he joked on social media. The Knicks walked away from the game with a win against the Heat, 116-95, marking the first eight-game losing streak for Heat's coach Erik Spoelstra, as detailed by CBS News.
