The iconic French bistro Le Petit Four, originally poised to close its doors permanently, will remain open, buoyed by an outpouring of public support from regulars and fans across Los Angeles. The Sunset Strip staple, which has graced West Hollywood since 1981, announced the change of fate in a social media post, expressing gratitude to patrons for the overwhelming response, including packed reservations and floods of supportive messages.
Despite an earlier statement which indicated the closure due to rising operational costs such as rent increases and minimum wage hikes, the surge in community backing altered the restaurant's course, with a statement on their Instagram reading, "Just one day before we were set to close doors for good, everything changed - you showed up in ways we never imagined." Unfortunately, several Sunset Strip landmarks weren't as fortunate and will shut down; these include The Den on Sunset, Rock and Reilly’s WeHo location, Hudson House, and Sunset Strip Liquor Store, as reported by KTLA.
Despite the community's intervention for Le Petit Four, others facing closure, such as The Den on Sunset, shared farewells and thanks to their customers, highlighting the warm and personal relationships between such establishments and their clientele.
