Spring is rolling in, and with it comes the trimmings and trappings of seasonal yard care. Dearborn residents can sigh in relief as the city gears up to resume yard waste collection starting Monday, March 10. This annual service reactivation is part of the city's scheme to keep neighborhoods tidy and facilitate waste management
As reported by the City of Dearborn's official announcement, Public Service Days kicked off earlier this month on Monday. These days aim to enhance the efficiency of various services, including trash, recycling, and yard waste pick-up. These services are meticulously scheduled to line up with each neighborhood’s established trash collection day, improving roadwork and sewer maintenance while they are at it.
Residents are advised to remove their parked vehicles from the streets on their designated trash days, beginning at 8 a.m. and stretching until 4 p.m., to make room for the city services. This measure is in place through Dec. 8, and adhering to it ensures the smooth operation of services and helps residents dodge any unsavory parking tickets.
Those needing a parking exemption due to hardship can reach out by dialing 313-943-2150 or completing an application online. Holidays, as per usual, are exceptions to these parking rules. Compost stickers, meanwhile, are available at library branches and the Dearborn Administrative Center, located at 16901 Michigan Ave, for those looking to participate in composting efforts.
