
The Eden Prairie Police Department (EPPD), in their ongoing effort to maintain transparency and community engagement, released a comprehensive look back at the calls and incidents they responded to last year. In the grand tally, the EPPD clocked in at a notable 45,810 calls, according to a recent bulletin made public by the City of Eden Prairie.
Among the notable statistics, the EPPD conducted 60 death investigations, handled one fatal vehicle crash, and responded to 302 person-in-crisis calls. Domestic violence remained a concern with 78 domestic assault cases, and there were 216 DWI arrests. The department also made 13,628 traffic stops, as per the City of Eden Prairie.
Community care activities, such as 159 fingerprint services, 69 child safety seat inspections, and 119 barking dog complaints, demonstrate the department's engagement in a range of public safety issues beyond crime. A minor yet telling number of incidents involved 557 car lockouts, 106 school bus stop arm violations, and 19 cases of people stuck in elevators, according to the EPPD's published bulletin.
