
El Paso is set for an economic boost as Governor Greg Abbott announced that Schneider Electric USA, a leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, plans to upgrade and expand their operations. This initiative is anticipated to pour millions into the local economy and create 300 new jobs. Schneider Electric, which prides itself on a wide array of offerings from building systems to industrial automation, is positioning itself to meet the rising demand in electrification and digitalization.
As reported by Texas Governor's Office, Governor Abbott praised the renowned 'Made in Texas' brand. His excitement was clear about this expansion enhancing Schneider Electric's production of medium voltage switchgear, crucial for the burgeoning data center market. Texas, celebrated for its business-friendly climate and skilled workforce, seems ready to aid Schneider Electric in achieving new heights. "This significant new investment by Schneider Electric in El Paso will create 300 new, good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans," Governor Abbott said, as obtained by Texas Governor's Office.
State Senator César J. Blanco and Representative Joe Moody also expressed their enthusiasm about the project's potential to stimulate the local economy and provide food on El Paso's tables. Moody, specifically, noted the benefits reaped from the Texas Enterprise Fund grant. Mayor Renard Johnson, meanwhile, highlighted the city's business-friendly atmosphere as a key factor in securing Schneider Electric's commitment. The county's leadership echoed this sentiment, with County Judge Ricardo Samaniego referencing the strength and resilience of the local economy as a deciding draw for Schneider Electric's decision to expand.
The Borderplex Alliance CEO Jon Barela saw the expansion as an endorsement of the region's ability to support growth aspirations of innovative businesses. Echoing similar pride in the community’s achievements, Precinct 4 Commissioner Sergio Coronado spoke to the region's role as a leader in advanced manufacturing. Meanwhile, District 1's City Representative Alejandra Chávez celebrated Schneider Electric's integral role in driving economic growth in El Paso. "Their continued investment strengthens our region’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing," Coronado said, as per Texas Governor's Office, potentially pointing to the innovative threads that weave through the community's economy while speaking.
