
Euless Police Department responded to a bomb threat at KEYS High School and The District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) on Wednesday, reporting that both schools were evacuated swiftly. According to the social media post by Euless Police Department, the alert was issued around 10:24 am, and Central Junior High School, which is located next door, was also evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Following the threat, Euless Police indicated that approximately 1,200 students and staff were escorted to safety and transported to a reunification point in the City of Bedford, completing the whole operation in under an hour. Buses were provided promptly by Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (HEB-ISD) for this purpose, showing the preparedness of the institutions involved.
Assisting in securing the scene were several agencies, including K9 officers from DFW International Airport and bomb squad members from the Northeast Tarrant County Area Swat Team, as well as squads from the Northeast Fire Department Association and North Richland Hills Fire Department. Their coordinated effort led to a thorough sweep, resulting in no explosives being found at any of the three facilities.
