
A fire on I-75 South in Campbell County last Sunday led to the closure of all southbound lanes after a semi-truck carrying cardboard caught fire near mile marker 157, about four miles from the Tennessee-Kentucky border. Reported around 6 p.m., the incident caused traffic delays, with updates provided to travelers after 9:30 p.m. Crews worked to extinguish the fire using an excavator, as stated by WBIR.
The Campbell County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security managed the response to a fire that occurred just south of the 5th Street exit. According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s SmartWay map, the fire was first reported around 6 p.m. last Sunday, as per WATE.
By 9:40 p.m. last Sunday, one lane was reopened after crews controlled the situation, and on Monday morning, all lanes were fully open, as mentioned by WATE.
