
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Tory Moore, O.D., James Oevermann, O.D., and reappointed Judith Chambers to the Texas Optometry Board. Their terms will expire on January 31, 2031, pending Senate approval, according to the Office of the Texas Governor.
Moore is the CEO and owner of Dumas Vision Source and is involved with the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and his local church. He has also served as president of the Dumas Noon Lions Club. Oevermann is the CEO and doctor at Cypress Family Eyecare, with experience in optometric organizations and volunteer work with Eyes on Me. Chambers has been a board member since 2013, as stated by the Office of the Texas Governor.
Moore, Oevermann, and Chambers have been appointed to the Texas Optometry Board. Moore and Oevermann hold Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Houston, while Chambers has a Master in Guidance and Counseling. Chambers is also involved in community service, including programs supporting the homeless and volunteering for charitable events in Austin.
