Hillsborough County has carved out a reputation over the past decade for nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit. The Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC) in particular, celebrated its tenth year in action on March 14, an event marked by the coming together of over 150 people including business owners, ECC partners, and county officials. The ECC, as reported by Hillsborough County's newsroom, has been a pivotal beacon for start-ups since its inception in 2014.
It began with a vision from County Commissioner Mark Sharpe in collaboration, with the Economic Development team to foster a nurturing environment for startups. This initiative has since borne fruit, supporting a plethora of businesses and in turn, creating job opportunities for local residents. However, it is not just the ECC's efforts, it's the network of partners like the Small Business Development Center at Hillsborough, SCORE, and the Kauffman Foundation that have amplified its impact, embracing the center's cause wholeheartedly.
These collaborations have turned the ECC into one of Hillsborough County's prime entrepreneurial hubs, accelerating the growth and success of businesses. Indeed, the ECC has been a melting pot where fledgling ideas are refined, resource connections are made, and commercial ventures see daylight. Resource partners provide an invaluable service, equipping owners with the tools required to scale their operations and to thrive amidst the challenges of the corporate world.
The anniversary gathering was more than a mere celebration; it was a testament to the perseverance of community, economy, and innovation that has pulsed through Hillsborough County for a decade. "What started as a small seed of an idea in 2014 has grown into a vibrant entrepreneurial hub in Hillsborough County," highlighted a Hillsborough County press release.
