David Guillod, a producer who found himself at the center of controversy, will not face charges surrounding allegations of sexual assault in Los Angeles County. Guillod had previously been accused of sexually assaulting a woman during an October 2020 evening meeting, according to information from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Despite the serious nature of the claims, District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman concluded that there was insufficient evidence to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. Hochman's office empathized with the accusers, acknowledging the "deeply troubling and concerning behavior" and the "pain and trauma" they endured during the investigative process, as stated in a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
This decision runs parallel to the resolution of a related case in Santa Barbara County, where Guillod was charged with 11 felonies for four alleged attacks between 2012 and 2015. These charges were also dismissed. The lack of charges in both counties marks the conclusion of legal proceedings that have loomed over Guillod for years, as highlighted in previous FOX 11 reports.
The District Attorney expressed a hope that, despite the outcome, the bravery shown by the women coming forward would encourage others impacted by sexual abuse to seek support and report offenses. "Reporting sexual assault takes courage, and we recognize the strength of the women who came forward to tell their stories in this matter," Hochman said.
